What does a ski/snowboard “package” consist of?

A ski “package” consists of skis, boots and poles. All of Wild Bill’s rental skis are shaped skis. A snowboard” package” is board, binding and boot. We offer ala carte rentals for those that own their own boots, skis or snowboards. All equipment is inspected and tuned prior to rental, no matter what package you choose.

What is the difference between Basic, Performance and High Performance Packages?

Basic:
Rear entry rental boot, and rental skis with poles.

Performance:
Newer ski with Syncro‐Center Binding (you will be centered on your ski for more control), four buckle boot and poles.

High Performance:
A much nicer four buckle boot, with a top of the line high performance ski and binding and poles. Aids in control no matter what level of skier you are.

What is the difference between Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3 Skier?

Type 1:
Ski Cautiously. Prefers slower speeds, cautious skiing on smooth slopes, entry level skiers

Type 2:
Ski Moderately. Prefer a variety of speeds, prefer to ski on varied terrain (green, blue and black)

Type 3:
Ski Aggressively. Prefer faster speeds and aggressive skiing on slopes of moderate to steep pitch. (Skis mostly difficult blues and blacks)

I own my own boots, what kind of savings do I get?

You will receive a $2.00 per day discount off the package price.

What are Wild Bill’s hours of operation?

We are open from 8 am to 6 pm from mid December until the Red River Ski area closes. We are open on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day!

What if I rent for three days and decide I only want to ski one day?

Wild Bill’s offers a multi day discount if you rent skis for more than one day (consecutive). You will receive a $2.00 per day discount for day 2 or 3 or more on each package. We do not offer a multi day discount for snow board rental; however, you will receive a 10% discount for making a reservation (see next question).

Wild Bill’s offers the option of renting day by day to allow you more flexibility in your choice of ski/snowboard days. If you choose to take advantage of Wild Bill’s multi‐day discount, Wild Bill’s has a NO REFUND policy should you change your mind.

How do I get Wild Bill’s 10 percent discount?

If you make a reservation ONLINE 3 days in advance to your first day of skiing or boarding, you will receive 10% off of your reservation. If your reservation is less than 3 days prior to your first day of skiing or boarding, the 10% discount will not be applied.

Why should I make a reservation?

There is a convenience factor for YOU in making a reservation ahead of time. Wild Bill’s will pull your ski boots and skis (or boots and snowboards) and have your equipment set up ahead of your arrival. Upon your arrival, you will try on your boots and if they fit properly, your skis or snowboard are preset.

You only have to sign waivers and pay the remainder of your rental charges and you are out the door and on your way to fun on the snow. P.S. Newer equipment is rented on a first come, first served basis. Reservations will get newer equipment per availability.

If I make a reservation, will my credit card be charged?

If your reservation is made two weeks in advance, Wild Bill’s will try to contact you by email to confirm the reservation. At that time, we will obtain your approval to charge your card for your first day of skiing/snowboarding charges. The remainder of the charges for the reservation will be settled at the time you pick up your equipment. If the reservation is less than two weeks in advance, we will process the reservation according to your instructions on the reservation sheet. Feel free to call with questions.

Can I prepay the total amount of the reservation?

Wild Bill’s will be happy to accommodate your request. Just put a note in the comments section that you want to” pay in full” at the time of reservation. We will call you to confirm your reservation and to get your permission to charge your card for the full amount of the rental reservation.

What is Wild Bill’s reservation cancellation policy?

Wild Bill’s requires a 10 day advance cancellation to avoid any charges. If you should cancel in less than 10 days time, you will be charged 10 percent of the total reservation to defray any labor costs to pre‐set your skis and boots. If you cancel less than 6 days prior, you will be charged for your first day of skiing. We hope you understand that Wild Bill’s has set up your skis, boots, snowboards, etc. ahead of time to save you and your family time so that you can spend more time on the snow! This equipment is considered out of service and is “on hold” for your family.

When can I pick up my reserved equipment?

You may pick up your equipment any time after 2:00 pm the day PRIOR to your first day to ski. If you prefer, you can pick up the morning of your first day to ski. The shop opens at 8:00 am and is open until 6:00 pm

Do you accept reservations for less than one day of skiing or snowboarding?

Wild Bill’s does not accept reservations for half days of skiing or snowboarding.

Can I rent skis without making a reservation?

ABSOLUTELY! Wild Bill’s loves walk in business. Reservations are a service we offer, but they are not required.

Am I responsible for my rental equipment from the time I pick up my skis/boards during my time in Red River?

You are responsible for your equipment (including, but not limited to) loss, theft and damage while in use from the time you pick your equipment up until you return it at the end of your ski vacation. Any items not returned to Wild Bill’s will need to be paid for at full replacement value.

How do I keep track of my equipment on my ski trip?

At the time of your rental, you will be given a copy of your receipt with your ski number, boot number and pole color (or your snowboard number and boot number). KNOW YOUR NUMBER. Please make sure you use the equipment we set up for you. Use your number to keep track of your equipment while out skiing. Many skis look alike, so make sure you are skiing in the equipment we set up for you!

What does Wild Bill’s Insurance cover?

The damage waiver or insurance is $2 per person per day. It covers any kind of damage to the equipment WHILE IN USE (i.e.) skiing on trails at the ski area. The insurance does not cover loss, theft or abuse of equipment (melted boots, multiple rock gouges or damage incurred from skiing or snowboarding off marked trails; jumping in terrain park). The insurance does not cover missing parts.

On our last day of skiing, what time are our returns due in to Wild Bill’s?

Your rental equipment is due in no later than 5:30 pm the last day of your rental. The return due date should be marked on the rental receipt you will be given.

What if I decide to ski another day beyond what I have rented for?

Wild Bill’s asks you to come in the night your equipment is due in to re‐rent your equipment. There is no need to bring your equipment if you are just re‐renting.

We want to rent from Wild Bill’s, but we are planning on skiing in Taos/Angel Fire/Wolf Creek. Is that possible?

ABSOLUTELY! Many of our renters ski the Enchanted Circle (Red River, Angel Fire and Taos). You must return your equipment to Wild Bill’s your last day of skiing no later than 5:30 pm or make prior arrangements with Wild Bill’s so that we know when to expect you.
